GAGAN-01 AIS 140 GPS for Karnataka Mining

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways India (MoRTH) mandated the use of AIS 140 compliant GPS devices in certain categories of public transport vehicles to improve safety and efficiency. This move is in line with the government's efforts to enhance road safety, ensure real-time tracking, SOS button, and monitor vehicle movement effectively

The AIS 140 GPS devices are considered an important system in modernizing the transportation sector, as they enable authorities to track and manage public vehicles more efficiently. AIS 140 compliant device used Global Positioning System, Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System and GSM/General Packet Radio Service modem for vehicle tracking. In addition it can have a provison for hybrid navigation constellations such as GLONASS, and Galileo (satellite navigation). In January 2019, Indian government directed all the state governments to enforce AIS 140 compliant GPS tracking devices with the supporting software for all passenger-carrying buses and other public transport vehicles.
